Program Highlights
The MPH in Health Policy at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of how federal, state, and local policies shape the U.S. health-care system. Curriculum Overview
The MPH in Health Policy requires 42 credit hours. The curriculum includes core public health courses, specialized courses in health policy, a 200-400 hour Applied Practice Experience (APE), and an Integrative Learning Experience (ILE), typically a capstone project. The APE provides practical experience in settings such as advocacy groups, healthcare organizations, health departments, or federal agencies.

The average GPA of admitted students is 3.32. Submission of GRE scores is optional for Fall 2025 admission. Applicants should possess strong quantitative skills. Applications are reviewed holistically. The average cohort size is 45 students.

Graduates are well-qualified for health policy and management positions in the private health-care industry, non-profit sector, government, and as part of research teams in academia. The Applied Practice Experience (APE) offers opportunities in diverse settings such as advocacy groups, medical care delivery organizations, municipal and state health departments, and federal agencies like the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
