Dual MPH/MBA Program at Emory University Program Overview 2025

Program Highlights & Accreditation

The Emory University MPH/MBA dual degree program is designed for individuals aspiring to lead and manage public health systems and advise on health policy issues. Offered jointly by the Rollins School of Public Health (MPH) and Goizueta Business School (MBA), this program integrates comprehensive training in public health principles with advanced business administration skills. Students are equipped to address complex challenges at the intersection of health and business, preparing them for impactful careers. Accreditation for the MPH program is not specified in the provided context.

Delivery Modes

The MPH/MBA dual degree is a full-time, on-campus program. Students spend dedicated semesters at both the Rollins School of Public Health and the Goizueta Business School.

Curriculum Overview

The program is structured over five semesters (excluding summers). Students typically begin with two semesters at Goizueta Business School, followed by two semesters at the Rollins School of Public Health. The final fall semester involves electives in both schools, with enrollment based at the business school. It is important that students start the MPH/MBA program at Goizueta Business School to complete it in five semesters.

For the MPH component, students can associate with one of three departments at Rollins School of Public Health:

  • Health Policy Management

  • Global Health

  • Epidemiology

Students are encouraged to participate in summer internships to complement their coursework and gain practical experience.

Admissions Requirements

Students must apply to Goizueta Business School and the Rollins School of Public Health separately. If a student is accepted to both programs, they can enroll in the MPH/MBA program. We look at the test scores, GPA, work experience, essays, recommendations and interview when evaluating candidates.

In order to be a competitive applicant, you need to have full-time post undergraduate work experience. The average work experience for MBA students at Goizueta is five years. The Admissions Committee is most interested in hearing how your life and work experiences will add to MBA class discussions and an eventual business-related career. MBA classes are highly participatory and lively class discussions are a key part of the learning process. Our recommendation is that you package your application in a way that highlights the skills you have gained from your work and organizational experiences.

Applicants to Goizueta Business School are required to take the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Candidates should prepare vigorously for the quantitative portion of the test as candidates are expected to exceed the 50th percentile on the quantitative section of the exam. Most of our students score at the 75-80th percentile. Please visit our Frequently Asked Questions regarding test scores if you have additional questions.

Career & Practical Experience

Graduates of the MPH/MBA program are prepared for a variety of roles. Employment examples include healthcare consultants who advise clients on managing their enterprise, performance improvement, transactions, and crises, and clinic consultants specializing in facility, strategy, and information technology planning for hospital systems, academic medical centers, and physician group practices.

The program emphasizes practical application of knowledge, with students strongly encouraged to pursue summer internships.
