The Master of Public Health (MPH) program at Westminster University aims to prepare future public health leaders with the skills required to address today’s population health challenges. The Master of Public Health program at Westminster University is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). Graduates are equipped with population health skills to address pressing health issues.
Delivery Modes
The program is offered in a worker-friendly hybrid format, paced over 10 months (3 semesters) from August through June. This accelerated structure includes weekend and evening courses, with in-class meetings on Fridays and synchronous online components. The curriculum is delivered in five, eight-week blocks, designed to accommodate working professionals.
Curriculum Overview
The MPH program requires a total of 45 credit hours. Core courses (39 credit hours) cover foundational public health areas such as Principles of Public Health and Health Promotion, Social and Behavioral Sciences in Public Health, Environmental Health, Principles of Epidemiology, Health Policy and Management, Public Health Ethics and Leadership, Statistical Methods for Public Health, and Program Planning and Evaluation. Sample courses include MPH-520: Environmental Health and MPH-530: Principles of Epidemiology.
Students complete a hands-on customized practicum experience (MPH 621 Practicum I and MPH 622 Practicum II) and a two-part capstone research project (MPH 635 Capstone I and MPH 690A/B Capstone II).
Six credit hours of elective courses are required, with options such as Global Health, Introduction to SAS Programming, Health Disparities, Emergency Preparedness, Violence and Public Health, Health Informatics, and Statistical Programming in R.

Admissions Requirements
Applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree. Complete applications are reviewed on a rolling admissions basis, and early submission is strongly encouraged. The program has a Fall entry term.
To progress in the program, students must receive a grade of B or higher in all courses and complete all master’s project requirements. Students are encouraged to complete the degree in the 10-month cohort schedule but must complete it within 4 years from initial admission.
