The Master of Public Health (MPH) program at Wayne State University, located in the School of Medicine's Department of Family Medicine & Public Health Sciences, is designed to prepare students for public health practice. Curriculum Overview
Candidates for the MPH degree must complete 42 credit hours in graduate coursework. The curriculum includes:
Foundation courses (e.g., Foundations of Public Health, Social Justice in Public Health, Biostatistics I, Epidemiology, Public Health Policy).
An Applied Practice Experience (practicum).
An Integrated Learning Experience (Master's project).
Concentration-specific courses for either Public Health Practice (MPH-PHP) or Population Health Analytics (MPH-PHA).
Approved electives to complete the 42-credit requirement.
All coursework must be completed within six years.

Admission to the MPH Program is contingent upon admission to the Wayne State University Graduate School . WSU MPH students come from varying educational backgrounds, including nursing, psychology, public health, medicine, social work, and economics.
