Dual MPH/MBA Program

Program Highlights

The Master of Business Administration and Master of Public Health (MBA/MPH) dual degree program is a collaboration between the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) and the University of Nebraska-Omaha's (UNO) College of Business Administration. It is designed for students passionate about serving as managers or administrators who desire specialized expertise and training in public health management and administration. Students learn to manage and administer public health programs and use empirical data to analyze the efficacy and feasibility of health policies and management decisions. UNMC is a recognized leader in health security, implementation science, rural health, and cancer prevention research, complemented by UNO's highly rated College of Business Administration. The program typically starts in the Fall.

Delivery Modes

The MBA/MPH dual degree program offers flexibility, available in both online and on-campus formats. Students can choose to pursue their studies on a part-time or full-time basis, accommodating diverse schedules and learning preferences.

Curriculum Overview

MBA/MPH dual-degree students undertake coursework in both business and public health, following a plan of study developed in agreement with advisors from both programs. The curriculum is designed to equip students with skills in managing public health programs and using empirical data for policy analysis. Admissions Requirements

Applicants must apply to and be accepted by both the MBA program at UNO and the MPH program at UNMC through separate admissions processes. Admission into one program does not guarantee admission into the other. Students with non-business undergraduate degrees may need to complete foundational business courses.
