Program Highlights

The MPH degree at Tufts University is designed to equip students with essential skills and knowledge to excel in the field of public health. The program emphasizes flexibility, offering multiple sections of required courses throughout the year, cross-registration opportunities between on-campus and online modalities, and classes scheduled in the late afternoon and evening, supplemented by a robust summer session.

Delivery Modes

The MPH program is available in both on-campus and online formats. The online MPH option offers concentrations in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Health Management and Policy, Individualized, and Population Health Promotion. Students can pursue the degree full-time, typically completing it in four semesters (two years), or opt for an accelerated 12-month path. A flexible part-time option allows for program completion within up to five years.

Curriculum Overview

The 42-credit curriculum is built upon key competencies encompassing:

Each concentration also includes specific courses to enhance specialized competencies.

The curriculum allows for additional electives, and students may take up to two elective courses (equivalent to six credits) outside of the School of Medicine to broaden their interdisciplinary exploration.
