The Master of Public Health (MPH) program at Texas Woman's University (TWU) is designed to prepare high-quality public health professionals. Curriculum Overview
The MPH program requires the completion of 42 semester credit hours (SCH). The curriculum is structured as follows:
Public Health Core: 18 SCH. Courses include Biostatistics, Social and Behavioral Health, Environmental Health, Applied Research Methods, Epidemiology, and Health Advocacy and Leadership.
Health Promotion and Behavior in Rural Communities Concentration: 18 SCH.
Elective: 3 SCH.
Practicum/Field Experience: 3 SCH. The practicum involves a placement with a public health-related agency, requiring 350 work hours under the guidance of an agency mentor.

Admissions Requirements
All students must meet the University requirements as outlined in the Admission to the TWU Graduate School section of the catalog. Specific program admission requirements include:
A baccalaureate degree in health promotion, public health, kinesiology, or a related field from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional or general accrediting agency, or an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university.
An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher for the last 60 semester credit hours of bachelor's degree coursework.
For international students, a test of English proficiency or an approved exception.
Application materials to be submitted via email include a Personal Statement Letter (indicating interest in a thesis and preferred faculty mentor if applicable) and a professional resume/curriculum vita. Two letters of recommendation must also be submitted directly by recommenders.
Application deadlines are March 1 for Fall and Summer admission, and July 1 for Spring admission. Provisional admission may be considered for applicants who do not meet all minimum requirements.
