Executive MPH Program

Program Highlights

The Executive Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) program at Southern Connecticut State University is designed for professionals seeking to advance their careers in public health. The program offers a specialization in Management and Leadership, equipping graduates with the skills to lead in various public health settings. A 3.0 cumulative GPA is required for graduation, and a grade of 'C+' or higher is required in all courses.

Curriculum Overview

The M.P.H. program requires the successful completion of 42 credits. The curriculum is structured as follows:

• Core Requirements (27 Credits): PCH 500 – Foundations of Public Health (may be waived for students with foundational knowledge), PCH 510 – Environmental Health, PCH 515 – Biostatistics, PCH 516 – Public Health Research, PCH 520 – Social and Behavioral Foundations in PH, PCH 548 – Public Health Administration, PCH 551 – Epidemiology, PCH 564 – Health Systems and Policy, and PCH 595 – Public Health Internship (Pass/Fail).

• Management and Leadership Concentration (9 Credits): PCH 526 – Diversity in Health Organizations, PCH 549 – Public Health Leadership, and PCH 550 – Strategic Planning for Health Organizations.

• Electives (3 Credits): Students select one graduate-level elective course.

• Capstone (3 Credits): PCH 593 – Special Project Capstone (Pass/Fail).

Admissions Requirements

Career & Practical Experience
