The Oregon State Master of Public Health (MPH) program prepares students to promote and protect human health and well-being in communities globally, aiming to create a healthier, more equitable world. Delivery Modes
The MPH program offers flexible delivery modes to accommodate diverse student needs:
On-Campus: Offered at the Corvallis campus with six specialized options.
Online: The MPH in Public Health Practice is delivered fully online through Oregon State Ecampus.
Full-time and Part-time: Both on-campus and online programs can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis.
Accelerated Program: Eligible Oregon State undergraduate students can start the MPH program early through an accelerated pathway.
Curriculum Overview
The MPH program requires 56-60 credit hours and provides interdisciplinary training. Key components include:
Core Public Health Knowledge: Foundational courses covering essential public health disciplines.
Specialized Option Courses: In-depth study within one of the chosen concentrations.
Internship: A required 160-hour professional internship provides hands-on experience and professional contacts, guided by a dedicated MPH internship coordinator.
Integrative Learning Experience: A culminating project that integrates knowledge and skills; a thesis is not required.
Faculty Advisor: Each student is paired with a faculty advisor for guidance and support.
Admissions Requirements
Applications are reviewed on December 1 (Priority), March 1, and June 1 (Final). The GRE is not required for admission. All admitted students begin the MPH program in the fall term of each year. For detailed application instructions, please visit the how to apply page .

Cost & Financial Aid
Oregon State University aims to make graduate education affordable. The MPH program has reduced its tuition cost by nearly $4,000 to improve access. Estimated costs for the 60-credit program (based on 2023-2024 academic year rates) are:
Resident: $31,591 (Tuition $26,892 + Fees $4,699)
Non-resident: $63,397 (Tuition $58,698 + Fees $4,699)
Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP): $45,037 (Tuition $40,338 + Fees $4,699). Eligible students may save about $8,000.

Career & Practical Experience
Graduates are prepared for a variety of roles in public health. The online MPH in Public Health Practice focuses on leadership roles in program management and implementation. On-campus specializations prepare students for careers such as biostatisticians, environmental health specialists, epidemiologists, global health professionals, health policy analysts, and health promotion specialists. The required 160-hour internship provides valuable real-world experience and networking opportunities. The integration with OSU Extension Service also offers unique chances to apply learning to current health challenges in Oregon communities.
