Program Highlights

The Online Master of Public Health (OMPH) at Morgan State University is designed for working professionals seeking to advance or change careers in health services. It features a concentration in Executive Health Management and emphasizes social justice, health equity, and a broad "social determinants" perspective of health. Delivery Modes

The OMPH program is offered completely online. It features an accelerated curriculum plan designed for completion in less than 18 months. Each fall and spring semester consists of courses offered in two consecutive eight-week terms, while the summer semester is a single eight-week session.

Curriculum Overview

The Online MPH requires the completion of 42 credit hours, structured as follows:

• 35 credit hours of coursework

• 7 credit hours for a graduate capstone project

Admissions Requirements

Applicants must meet the general requirements of the Morgan State University School of Graduate Studies and the specific criteria for the Online MPH program. Admission is for the fall semester only. Key requirements include:

• A prior academic/professional bachelor's, master's, or doctoral-level degree in a health-related field.

• At least 3 years of prior work experience in a health-related profession.

The application package must include:

• Completed online graduate admissions application.

• Personal statement of academic and professional plans, and reasons for selecting Morgan State University.

• Current resume or curriculum vitae.

• Sample work products.

• Official transcripts from all graduate and undergraduate institutions attended.

• Three letters of recommendation.

The GRE is not required for admission to the Online MPH program. An interview may be requested by the Graduate Coordinator.
