Liberty University’s Master of Public Health (MPH) program is designed to equip students to solve public health issues and improve general well-being. Delivery Modes

Curriculum Overview

The program requires 42 credit hours for completion. Core foundational courses explore major public health principles including:

• HLTH 501 – Biostatistics

• HLTH 503 – Principles of Epidemiology

• HLTH 505 – Principles of Environmental Health

• HLTH 507 – Public Health Administration

Other topics include patterns of disease, health policy management, and research methods. Students can personalize their program with a specialization in Environmental Health, Global Health, Community Health Promotion, or Nutrition. A required practicum (HLTH 698 MPH Practicum) provides hands-on experience; requirements include successful completion of core and specialization courses, a background check through Castle Branch, and an approved agreement form.

Admissions Requirements

• A regionally or nationally accredited bachelor’s degree.

• A minimum GPA of 2.5 for admission in good standing. Applicants with a master’s degree or at least 12 graduate credits from an accredited institution will be assessed based on their master’s-level work.

• Online application or application via phone with an admissions counselor.

• A $50 non-refundable, non-transferable application fee (waivers available for qualifying service members, veterans, and military spouses).

• Official college transcripts (unofficial transcripts can be submitted for initial acceptance with a Transcript Request Form).

• For applicants whose native language is not English, official TOEFL scores or an approved alternative assessment are required.

• No standardized testing (e.g., GRE) is required for admission.

• Up to 50% of the graduate degree total (21 credit hours) may be transferred in.

Liberty University is committed to providing quality academics at an affordable tuition rate. Tuition rates per credit hour for the MPH program are:

• Graduate Full Time: $565

• Graduate Part Time: $615

• Military Graduate: $275 (reflective of academic year 2024-2025)
