Eastern Washington University's (EWU) Master of Public Health (MPH) program is offered fully online, designed to provide students with a broad array of career options and the ability to make a difference by educating patients, slowing the spread of disease, and increasing life expectancy.

To earn the online Master of Public Health – General degree, students must complete 15 courses, totaling 60 credit hours. Core courses include 'PUBH 501: Foundations and Theories in Public Health' (which must be taken in the first term), Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Policy and Law, and Environmental and Occupational Health.

The curriculum includes 'PUBH 593: Applied Practice Experience,' an experiential course where students apply their knowledge in a chosen practical setting, and 'PUBH 601: MPH Portfolio,' a culminating course where students defend their Integrative Learning Experiences and document their Applied Practice Experiences.

• develop programs to meet assessed public health needs;

• assess program outcomes addressing public health concerns; and

• apply funding concepts, both public and private, to public health initiatives.

Admissions Requirements

Key admission requirements for the online MPH program include:

• A Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.

• An overall cumulative GPA of 3.0, or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in the last 90 quarter or 60 semester-graded postsecondary credit hours. (Applicants with GPAs below 3.0 who have relevant work experience are encouraged to apply and are considered on a case-by-case basis).

• A professional resume.

• Official transcript(s) from the college/university where the degree was earned.

Cost & Financial Aid

The online MPH – General program at EWU offers the same affordable, pay-by-the-course tuition to students residing in and out of the state of Washington.

As of the information provided, the tuition is $325 per credit hour, with a total estimated program cost of $19,500 for 60 credit hours. A 4-credit hour course costs $1,300.

Additional fees include a $75 application fee and a $139 fee for the PUBH 601 Portfolio course.
