Dual MD/MPH Program

Program Highlights & Accreditation

The Master of Public Health (MPH) program at Cornell University, offered in partnership with the Department of Public and Ecosystem Health and Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM), is an innovative, hands-on master's degree. It is thoughtfully designed to integrate with the WCM medical school curriculum. The program spans 12 months, typically starting in May and concluding the following May.

Delivery Modes

The MPH program is conducted on Cornell’s Ithaca campus. It is structured as an accelerated, full-time program for M.D. students, completed over a 12-month period.

Curriculum Overview

The core MPH curriculum provides students with the essential skills, tools, and foundational knowledge to become general public health practitioners. Students also have the opportunity to select specialized areas for additional study through various concentrations .

Admissions Requirements

This program is specifically designed for Weill Cornell Medicine medical students to complete between their third and fourth year of M.D. studies. M.D. applicants should choose the accelerated option when applying. The application deadline is April 1, as indicated on the MPH Admissions website .
