Program Highlights & Accreditation
The Consortium of Eastern Ohio Master of Public Health (CEOMPH) program is a partnership between The University of Akron (UA), Cleveland State University (CSU), Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), and Youngstown State University (YSU).
The mission of the CEOMPH program is to prepare current and future professionals through accredited education, research, and service to improve the health of communities in eastern Ohio and beyond. This is accomplished through collaboration among its partner universities and agencies.
The program is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health .
Delivery Modes
The CEOMPH MPH program is delivered entirely online, with core courses utilizing webinar and online teaching formats, including some virtual instruction on Saturdays. This nontraditional program is designed to be accessible for working professionals.
Curriculum Overview
The MPH degree requires a total of 42 credit hours.
The curriculum includes 33 credit hours of core courses and 9 credit hours of elective courses. A significant component is the Capstone Project (I and II), which involves a public health practicum, an e-portfolio, and an exit presentation.

Admissions Requirements
Applications are processed through the CEOMPH program office at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) via the SOPHAS online application system .
Key application components include:
Completed online SOPHAS application.
Application fee ($150 for the first program, $60 for additional; fee waivers may be available, see SOPHAS fees and fee waivers for details).
Official academic transcripts from all higher learning institutions.
Personal statement (max two pages) detailing educational/professional history, public health interests, motivation, relevant experience, and career plans.
Two letters of recommendation.
GRE scores (taken within five years), or equivalent (DAT, GMAT, MCAT, PDAT). The GRE may be waived for applicants with a bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. institution with a cumulative GPA of 3.0+ or a related professional degree. Institutional code for score reporting: Northeast Ohio Medical University – CEOMPH SOPHAS – 4753.
TOEFL scores (taken within two years) for non-native English speakers from institutions outside of the U.S. Institutional code: 5688–SOPHAS.
Admission is offered for fall, spring, and summer semesters. Domestic student application deadlines are: Summer - April 15; Fall - July 15; Spring - December 1 of the prior year.
International Students: Due to the online nature of the curriculum, the program is NOT able to issue student visas for study in the U.S. Applicants with certain existing immigrant or non-immigrant statuses may be eligible.
Career & Practical Experience
The CEOMPH program is designed for professionals seeking to broaden their role in improving community health, enhance current job skills, or advance their careers in public health.
Students gain practical experience through the Public Health Practicum, which is part of the Capstone Project I, applying learned concepts to real-world public health challenges.
